21 July 2023

March to June: This is a popular tourist season in Shimla as the weather is quite pleasant and perfect for outdoor activities. The temperature is comfortable and usually varies between 15°C and 30°C. If you are into adventure sports then this is the ideal time to try paragliding, trekking, camping and rafting. Make sure you carry comfortable walking shoes for going around the Mall Road.

Summers are mild and you might need light woolens, especially at night. July to September: This is not peak season in Shimla because of heavy rainfall and occasional landslides. But monsoon brings out the lush character of the hill station. Also, since few people like to travel to the hill station at this time, hotel prices drop down considerably and you can find great deals on really good properties. October to February:

This is again a popular season for Shimla for people who are looking for snow, which typically falls between December and February. This is the time skiing and ice skating take off. The average temperature during this season is around 8°C and goes down to -2°C. This is a popular time for honeymooners. Don’t forget to carry warm clothes if you don’t want to get tuck in your hotel room...One of the twelve districts that make up the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is the himla district. Shimla, the state capital, serves as its headquarters. Mandi and Kullu in the north, Kinnaur in the east, Uttarakhand in the southeast, Solan in the southwest, and Sirmaur in the south are neighboring districts. The district is between 987 meters (3,238 feet) and 4,500 meters (14,764 feet) above sea level.

After Kangra and Mandi, it is the third-most populous district in Himachal Pradesh (out of 12) as of 2011.It is Himachal Pradesh's most urbanized district. Manali is a town in the Kullu district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, close to Kullu. It is located near the Kullu Valley's northernmost point, where the Beas River formed the valley.

The town is situated in the Kullu district, roughly 544 kilometers (338 miles) northeast of New Delhi and 270 kilometers (170 miles) north of Shimla, the state capital. Manali is the starting point of a historic trade route that passes via Lahaul (H.P.) and Ladakh, across the Karakoram Pass, and onto Yarkand and Hotan in the Tarim Basin of China. The population of Manali was 8,096 in 2011, according to the Indian census. As the entryway to the Lahaul and Spiti region as well as the city of Leh in Ladakh, Manali is a well-liked tourist destination in India. After the Santan lawgiver Manu (see Manusmriti), Manali was given its name. Manu-Alaya, which translates to "the abode of Manu," is thought to be the source of the name Manali.

Hindu theology holds that Manu emerged from his ark in Manali to resurrect humanity after a massive flood had submerged the entire planet. The "Valley of the Gods" is another name for the Kullu Valley, where Manali is located. A historic temple to the sage Manu is located in an old village in the city. ..
